  1. Just read the story of Way Quoe Long, it has touched me deeply. We share the same birthday, and you interviewed him on my son’s birthday. Think that I’m going to write him a letter , but I’ve never done this before. Do you have any suggestions on what to say ???

    • Thank you for wanting to write a letter. I am sure he will enjoy hearing from you. You can talk about most anything (as long as it is not illegal). Way Long is an interesting man, highly intelligent, he is a foodie — even though he has been in prison over a decade he send me exotic recipes from his memory. He also plays music and loves rock and roll. He reads nonfiction, especially biographies. Aside from that, anything different is nice for prisoners as they seem the same surroundings and same people everyday. So tell him about your day, your life, your vacation, the cute dog you saw on the way to work. Anything really. It is just important they know they are not forgotten. If all else fails, tell him you talked to Cheri and she encouraged you to write, even though you never did this before.
